What we measure
BVI evaluates businesses across six key dimensions. Here’s an example of how we measure the Customer Dimension and assess a business’s ability to retain and engage its customers:
- Customer Stability – Measured through customer retention and churn rates, helping businesses understand the stability of their customer base and whether adjustments are needed.
- Customer Loyalty – Based on repeat purchase rates and the proportion of long-term customers, indicating sustained customer engagement and brand trust.
- Customer Profitability – Analyzes the revenue contribution of individual customers or customer segments, allowing businesses to identify high-value customers and allocate resources effectively.
- Customer Needs & Behavior – Uses customer feedback and purchase history to assess how well the business meets customer expectations and where improvements can be made.
BVI scores are derived entirely from a business’s existing data sources, such as sales records, CRM systems, and financial reports, ensuring that every assessment reflects real business conditions rather than assumptions.
How we score
BVI evaluates businesses across six key dimensions and assigns a maturity level to each based on real business data. The results are displayed in an intuitive radar chart, helping businesses identify strengths and areas for improvement.
BVI scores fall into four maturity levels:
- No Sophistication (0): No structured processes or management methods in place. The business is in its early stage with minimal strategic planning.
- Visibility (1): The business starts using tools to track and analyze performance. While processes are not yet mature, basic data-driven decisions can be made.
- Repeatability (2): The business has established standardized processes and can achieve consistent, predictable results through structured workflows.
- Adaptability (3): The business demonstrates strong flexibility and continuous improvement, allowing it to adjust strategies quickly and stay competitive in a changing market.
Each score is derived from objective, data-driven metrics, ensuring an accurate assessment of business performance.
A company’s sophistication is reflected in its ability to track and optimize key business metrics. BVI leverages data from existing management tools to provide an accurate assessment, while also encouraging businesses to integrate better systems and processes that will support sustainable growth.
